CARNAL

CARNAL is an interdisciplinary performance combining physical theatre, movement, and live music, centred around a large inflatable moon that reshapes the space and creates a shifting physical dialogue between bodies, breath, and form.

Performed by two artists, the work explores the relationship between bodies, breath, and spatial presence. Through physical interaction with the inflatable structure, the performers navigate states of tension, fragility, resistance, and balance, allowing movement to emerge through listening, proximity, and mutual support.

Originally commissioned by Pierre Letessier (Opéra Comique), CARNAL premiered at Université Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris in 2025. Since then, it has been presented internationally in festivals, galleries, theatres, and public spaces, including performances in the UK, Italy, Spain, and France.

Designed to be adaptable, CARNAL can be performed in a wide range of contexts — from theatres and museums to streets, industrial sites, and unconventional environments — creating a visually engaging and intimate encounter between performers, space, and audience.
