NETO
NETO is a short physical theatre performance-installation commissioned by Université Sorbonne Nouvelle (Paris) to open the “Semaine des Artes et des Medias.” The work explores presence, perception, and the shifting relationship between bodies and unseen forces through movement, material, and spatial transformation.
At the centre of the performance is a large cloth structure that functions as both environment and entity. It conceals and reveals the performer, creating a dynamic interplay between visibility and disappearance. Through repetitive actions and ritualistic gestures, the performer engages with the cloth as if addressing an unknown presence, inviting the audience to question what is seen, what is hidden, and what influences our actions beyond perception.
NETO also investigates contemporary relationships with invisible systems, drawing metaphorical parallels between ancient rituals and modern technologies such as artificial intelligence—systems we consult, trust, and return to without fully understanding their impact.
